Hello,
When I set this up yesterday, I put my name in the title box instead of the Description of my Problem. It is the first time I have ever used a site like this. Forgive Me! I can see no one would know what my problem is by seeing my name in the "Title" block.

I have an Amana Electric Dryer, Model LEA30AW about 7 years old. The dryer was running just fine till I turned the timer dial to allow the dryer to continue to run another 30 minutes. When I pushed the start button, nothing happened. I have not been able to start it since.

I checked the main fuse, I have power to the unit. I tested the door switch and found it to be "normally closed"? When I open the door, the switch is turned on? Is that the way it is supposed to work? It doesn't seem right to me, but how could a switch change it's characteristics. It has been working perfect for 7 years?

Any Help solving this "challenge" would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

Thai Joe

My Electric Amana Dryer, Model LEA30AW does absolutely nothing when I push the start button. I have power to the outlet, but it seems as if the unit is getting no power.
The unit was working fine till I turned the main dial to a new setting in the middle of its dry cycle. It shut down at that point and I have not been able to turn it on since? I removed the door switch and found it to be working correctly as a normally on switch? Is it supposed to be normally turned on when the door is open and off when its closed? That seems opposite to me, but how could the component change its characteristics.
Please Help!
