I don't see the F31 either, but the F25 refers to the thermistor. Try replacing it and see if that fixes things.

Can sympathize with the wife problem, been there.

If that does not fix things, repost with a model number so we can see that we are talking about the right machine.

Whirlpool Cabrio Dryer. Drive motor isn't working. Diagnostic mode provided me with two fault codes. F31, F25. I can't find a reference for either of these. Houshold of 8 (including one angry wife) and it brokedown on a saturday night. No warning. Just stopped working between loads.
