Gene,

After I replaced the control board and the oven sensor there is still a problem. Now it looks like the oven igniter is malfunctioning. The gas flickers on/off during all oven temp. settings. This problem was not evident before but is loud and clear now and by looking in the oven while it's on you can see the gas flame flicker on/off consistently. I have no issues with the burners or broil settings. Before spending even more dough just want your advice to see if that sounds correct.

You are welcome. I'm glad you were able to fix it.

Happy Holidays!

Gene,

Thanks for all the help. Replaced the control module and so far that seams like the fix.

Great website. I acquired proper parts and fix-it specs and directions from the site and threads to fix my dishwasher and the oven.

Will definitely pass it along to all friends who have the DIY bug.

Thanks again,
BO'C

There is a 50/50 chance for the oven temperature sensor or the control board to be bad.

Remove the rear control panel cover, locate the oven sensor plug at the control board, unplug it and measure the senor resistance. It suppose to be about 1100 Ohms at the room temperature.

If the reading is wrong then replace the oven sensor.

If the reading is correct then replace the control board (aka a clock).

- The part number for the oven sensor is AP204835

- The part number for the control board is AP4309072

Here are the break down diagrams for the Magic Chef range Model CGR3520ADH

Gene,

Any prognosis. Wondering if it's the clock/contrul module that needs to be replaced?

Thanks again for your help.

The burner in the oven for the broil takes about a minute to fully ignite.

The top burners on cooktop ignite right away.

The oven temp setting at 400 degree setting took about 15 minutes to lock in at the set temp. It is unpredictable at times and sometimes can take 20-30 minutes to lock in.

Gene,

Thanks for the reply. The Magic Chef model number is CGR3520ADH (gas).

It just takes a much longer to reach the proper temp. setting sometimes 20-30 minutes. As stated prior, the burners work fine and the broiler settings (hi/lo) work fine as well.

Reading other threads looks like it might be a problem with the control module. I did receive a part #AP2802870.

Just want to make sure that is the proper solve before ordering the part.

Thanks again.

How long takes to light up the burner from the start?

What is the complete model number of the range?

Recently we have been having trouble with the oven temperature. We find it takes a long time to beep and reach the setting shown on the clock/temp. board. The burners work fine and the broiler in the oven works fine. Would this problem be in the control board? If so I have the part number #AP4309072 and will order. Also need installation specs.

Thank you,
BO'C
