I have this same problem. I can take the control console off and use a hair dryer to warm the electronics board.

Does anyone have a comment on this? It seems this may be a common weak design with this unit.

Thanks,

Robert

Here is a manual although for older units it may still be of some use to you

You may have to join the site to get the manual but it is free and a good source of appliance info.

It does sound like a dirty or bad connection somewhere.

Looking at the price I would try the following on all connections to the board.

Connector Cleaning / Checking
Unplug the unit
Open it up
Remove the ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board at the control board.
Clean the edge connector.
If it is the type where there is not a connector just the insulation is removed, it can be cleaned with a pencil eraser. Do not use an ink eraser as it is too abrasive.
Check the tracks in the ribbon cable for hairline cracks. A magnifying glass helps here.
Would not hurt to clean the connector on the board. Use electronics contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush. Be gentle and do not reconnect till all the solvent evaporates.
Reconnect everything and give it a try.

I would also check it for a cold/bad solder joints and bad crimps etc. on the plugs.
Cold solder joints are often a duller gray or have pin holes.
Also sometimes if you wiggle the component you will see the components leg move on the solder side.
A magnifying glass is a big help here.

You would need the LCD Control board. Here is your part # 22004317. It is east to replace. Just take the back off the control panel, and it looks like for screws, and some plug ins, and you got it. You might want to unplug the washer, and take the back control panel off, and take off, one wire at a time, and put it back on. Also do it with any harness on the Board. You could just have a loose or poor connection. Tom Appliance Educator, Appliance Parts, Washer and Dryer Parts, Refridgerator and Freezer Parts, Stove and Oven Parts

Dear Web World,

I own a Neptune MAH7500AWW s/n A5799196CT. The display is starting to go out. Sometimes it will blink every one to two seconds. Other times it is dark. Once in a while it will work after I touch the lower left corner. Other times it works after I unplug the the washer for a few minutes then plug it back in. I know it's a matter of time before it quits for good.

Does anyone know what the problem is and where I can get the part?

Thank you
Fritz
