While the washer is full of water, check the water level switch for continuity between the terminals 7 & 16. If no continuity, replace the water level switch. Replacement has to be done on the empty washer.

Have a problem with a Maytag, top loader washer
The washer fills with water but does not agitate during the washing cycle
The washer spins during the spin cycle, and the water is pumped out
The lid switch has been replaced
The motor checks out and operates during the spin cycle
The timer moves through the total washing cycle
Could the electrical contacts/switches be bad in the timer which causes the motor to not operate during the washing cycle or could there be some other problem?
