Thanks, Peter. Sadly, this is a wall mounted microwave/oven combo, so getting it down to a repairman is not an option. We are hoping that it is something we can handle ourselves.

Hi. We have a little duplex at Palmetto, and we had a microwave problem on our last visit-- not working at all. The staff at Palmetto said to buy a new one (over $400). We tried Andy Midence's near the triangle. He didn't do micro's, but sent us just across the street to a gentleman whose name we can't remember. It's a house with yard cluttered with appliances. It didn't look too promising, but the owner said to come back in the morning, and it would be fixed. It was, for a grand total of about $45. If he's still there, it might be worth a try. For us, it was a surprisingly pleasant experience (and Andy Midence later fixed a washer for us, successfully). Greetings from northern California.

Our microwave unit heats intermittently. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Lights work, control panel seems to be OK, but the microwave just isn't consistent with heating. We have read the threads here and answers seem to range from fuses to magnetron parts to thermal cut-off. We live in Roatan, Honduras, so we want to get it right the first time! :) Any ideas? Thanks for your help!
