Don't know what that smoke is; but if you can freely turn the motor by hand from below, and it isn't responding to the electric switch--either you have a faulty switch, or the unit needs to be replaced.

my garbage disposer emits this bad odor and white smoke when i tried to unclog it with the key and pushing the little red button underneath. Does this means capot.?
