Fawn eyes, You're at the wrong end... You have to access that bearing from the front, that's why I said it was involved. Yes the service manual will walk you through the teardown procedure and repair/ replacement of the part. It'll come in handy in the future, if anything else goes wrong. This part is the most common noise issue on this style dryer. Does the noise seem to be comming from the back of the machine ? It's an easy repair, but it is an involved repair. but doable. :cool: :cool: :cool:

I have a super large capacity GE dryer that is making ear piercing screeching noises mostly at the beginning and the end of the cycle. It is taking a bit longer to dry the clothes, but they still dry. What part should I replace? Thanks in advance for any and all help. My dogs will really thank you; they are going nuts when I dry clothes! ~
