My Maytag MDG5500AWW gas dryer will light for about 8-10 seconds, then the flame goes out. About a minute later it will do the same thing, over and over again. The dryer never gets warm enough to actually dry clothes. I've changed the gas coils and the hi-cut-off thermostat but that didn't fix it. Bypassing the flame sensor by taping the two wires together prevents the dryer from running - it jerks the drum and then stops.

I'm guessing it's the flame sensor, although it shows continuity. What else could it be and what else should I check? If I'm going to order parts, I'd like to order everything I might reasonably need in one shot.

thanks.
