All microwaves have a strong restrictions on a materials which can be used inside.
The best way is to check if a cookware you are going to use marked as good for a microwave.

I bought my microwave ,about 20 years ago,when I lived in Lakewood,Co.Every time I put something plastic in,it starts popping.Do you think it can be repaired or do I need a new one.Thank you for your time
