Gene:

Thanks so much for the info on above. I have been all over trying to get
this switch.

Just for your info:

I notice on many other forum inquirys on the Kitchenaid KCS 100B Trash
Compactors with complaints such as:

1. "Compactor runs continously"
2. "Compactor starts and then stops-unable to open drawer-plunger
is blocking it"
These complaints are almost always caused by the failure of the above
interlock switches. There are actually two of them. One is on the upper ram and the other is on the inner left drawer frame. They are interchangeable and identical even though they have different part #s!(spring loaded normal open, momentary closed) If the drawer frame switch fails, the compactor will not operate (drawer closed), or the compactor
will operate and crush the drawer if it is open. If the upper ram switch fails the plunger will extend partially into the drawer and stop- blocking
the drawer and the switches can not be reached for replacement
with out removing the entire compactor jacket. I have installed a bypass
switch for the upper ram switch, which will retract the plunger and then
both switches can be reached for replacement by simply removing the
upper door panel area without removing the entire compactor jacket.
These switches do fail from time to time as they do take abuse.

I hope this information will be helpfull to you with other complaints.

Thanks again for you help.

Jack

Hi Jack,

The switch with the part number B-113832 has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available.

The switch with the part number B-105437 is Appliance Parts Pros item number AP3124207 and you can buy it for $14.11
