Take off the front panel and check the belts and the pump. You may have something stuck in the pump, turn the belt that is connected to the pump to tell. If the motor will not turn it is likely the motor. If the belt to the transmission will not turn it may be the transmission.

My over and under washer/dryer combo started screeching, and stopped in the spin mode. Electrical smells emanated, and the washer would not spin.

I unloaded the clothes, and tried just the spin mode, but again nothing but the screech and smell. I assume the motor has seized, but would appreciate any other areas to look at.
