You have the correct part number, 3949247. The tube is for venting of the interior of the switch where the contacts are. It is no longer included in replacement switches.

Helping a friend with her washer that would not spin or drain and found the lid switch had failed. Went looking around for the correct switch and found P/N 3949247 (replacing 3949237) as the correct switch for this model. Looked at pictures of the 3949247 and realized it didn't have the piece of clear tubing I saw coming out of the broken switch. Though I don't know what the tubing is for its probably a good bet its there for a reason. Looking at pictures of other lid switches I did find some that have tubing (3352629, 285671, etc.). Anyone know what the tubing is for and what the correct switch is to replace the one in this washer? Thanks for you help.
