Here is the part

Part number: AP2907492
Part number: AP2907492

and you will see a link to a nice video that will show you how to open it up and get to the pump. If the pump is leaking you should see water around it, or rust on the clips.

It is an easy repair, but it helps to have a helper, but make sure the helper is really a helper and not just a supervisor.

Good luck.

Thanks, its model # 110.28822790.
I don't know how to take off the cover to get to the pump, is there anywhere to find info on that?

Without a model number I am going to assume that this is a direct drive Whirlpool made product and yes, if that is the case it is very much worth trying to fix.

Replace the agitator dogs to fix the agitator problem, and take off the cabinet and you should find out the pump is the problem with the leak. Replace it and for what should be less than $50 in parts you should be fine for a long time. If you want to you can replace the coupling while you are replacing the pump and that should make it last even longer without another repair.

My washer has been falling apart, first the agitator stopped turning with a full load (ok if 1/2 or less) and now it's started leaking. I have checked the hoses and they are fine the water is coming out the bottom of the machine. Is this worth trying to fix?
