I am thinking a seal failed and the water leaking has made the bearing fail.

The swishing of water you hear is probably a balance ring, and should be okay. As long as the water is draining property and the clothes are as dry as they should be after the wash you should be okay.

I have a kenmore elite oasis he washer that is very loud during the spin cycle this has been going on for quite some time 1+ years. I looked behind the machine and noticed water on the floor today. When I pulled the unit out I noticed the floor under the machine looked like it had been wet before and the floor had what appears to be mud in a circle under the washer. What could be the issue?

Thanks,

Also when I tip the washer back and move the bottom aroun it sounds like there is still water in it somewhere.
