The shifter mode, shifter coil and shaft-and-tube are the same parts just different names.

Ok, but what is the mode shfter, is that what the parts diagram calls a shaft and tube assy, or is it part of the board attached to the top of the motor? I also noticed that you quoted a repair manual (Hydrowave Washer) do you know where I can get one?

See this site for more info.

Try clearing out the code per instructions, and if that does not fix things the mode shifter is your likely, but not certain, problem.

HydroWave GE Washer Repair Guide

I have a GE washer that in agitate the basket spins, also in spin when it shuts down there is no braking. This washer is the new all electronic model, and has a 4 flash code from the LED on the board. The tech sheet says to check the shift control? Does anyone have more info on this model, I'm leaning toward the spin tube assy. but could it also be in the motor/controller? Eric, Crossroadsapp
