I have an Electrolux EW23CS65GS1 with the following issue:

The ice maker calls for water every 5 or 10 minutes. This causes the water to overflow into the freezer creating a large buildup of ice.

I hear the water dispensing cycle cutting on and off, so it does not appear that the water valve is getting stuck in the open position and slowly leaking. Therefore, I don't believe the issue is related to the water valve.

I replaced the water filter, and when the water cycles it sounds like it has plenty of pressure, so it does not appear to be an issue with low water pressure.

The size of the ice cubes are fine, so it does not appear to be an issue with the water in the tray not reaching the thermostat.

The issue happens intermittently. It first happened after I restarted the freezer after defrosting the coil due to a bad thermostat. I shut the freezer down, and I removed the ice mmaker, inspected and reinstalled it after which it worked fine. I recently shut down the freezer again and the issue happened again.
