I don't know much about this style of refrigerator, but I know something about ice makers.
Is the ice melting or is more water being dumped onto it and causing it to freeze into a blob?
Have you checked your freezer or ice maker area temp? It needs to be below 10 degrees F to work well.
Are the cubes too big? If they are it would indicate the ice maker might be overflowing or not sitting level.
To work properly the ice maker needs to be level and that probably will involve making sure the fridge is level too.

Our fridge is just over 5 years old. The icemaker is located in the upper left corner of the side by side refrigerator. It is not in the bottom drawer freezer. It seems to be making ice fine, but when it drops into the container, the ice is melting into a massice blob which needs to be melted/removed. Any ideas as to the cause/solution? Thanks in advance.
