I turned the ice-maker off yesterday and the "jackhammer" sound has not occurred since then. What does this mean? What part or parts might need to be replaced?

Yes, the sound I hear is exactly like the one in the YouTube video, It is very loud and annoying, not to mention causing anxiety as far as not knowing what the problem is or how to fix it. I did think air might be in the line, so I turned the water off long enough to unscrew the water line and run a couple of gallons of water through the line to bleed it. Then I turned the water back on in order for the ice maker to work.

Have you tried turning the water off to the refrigerator?
I'm curious if that would make it quieter. Does yours make the same noise as the one in the video?
Its a really horrible noise.

I have a three-year old Samsung refrigerator that is making a strange "jackhammer" or "ratchet" type sound. The sound is random and only lasts for a few seconds each time, but happens several times a day. The appliance dealer I bought it from does not have a repair department and the Samsung website and owner's manual does not contain an answer for this.
