I have a KitchenAid KSSC42QMS01 refrigerator that has suffered a failure of the controls at the top of the refrigerator box, and the interior lights of both the refrigerator and freezer boxes. I found a troubleshooting guide that indicates an "open door" condition, and to press and hold a couple buttons on the control panel for several seconds and if that doesn't fix it, to unplug the unit for several seconds. Neither solution works. I'm wondering at this point if there's a faulty door switch, however I cannot find any mechanical door switch on either box anywhere. Are they reed switches? Usually door switches are lever-type that close when a door closes. There's nothing. The refrigerator continues to cool, I just have no way to adjust it, see the displays or get interior lights.
