I have a Viking Fridge Model VCRB304RSS.
Here is the issue I'm dealing with

- The alarm indicated that there is a thermistor problem, however testing the thermistor with an Ohm Meter I found it to be ok.
- In program mode, I see that the control panel is not getting a proper reading from the thermistor.
- Cabling from the thermistor to the panel is fine.
- Measuring the resistance of the thermistor where the cabling connects to the control panel, I am seeing buildup of a negative reading on the thermistor resistance as soon as I turn on the fridge, suggesting that the circuit is not passive and receiving some voltage, I assume from the control panel itself, but I am not sure.
- I have now taken the grounding cable (from the thermistor cabling) and connected it to the fridge's frame (ground), which results in the fridge running non-stop.

Any help and suggestions what I am dealing with here would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
