Here are your parts
Parts for EW23BC85KS - AppliancePartsPros.com
You will have to choose one from the Matching Model Numbers section.

The control board should have fixed this.

If the unit is new to you then check the wiring using the attached tech sheet.
Perhaps it is wired wrong or has a problem in a plug etc.

Looks like the defrost heater gets power though Relay 1 in the board.
Perhaps there is a problem with J1 it gives power to the defrost heater on Pin 4 but also has line voltage on Pin 3 all the time.

I have an ew23bc85ks..... counter depth french door refrig. It originally had a problem with popping the house breaker immediately. I located a direct short on the wire (brown wire) feeding to the defrost heater (not the thermostat side). I bypassed the wire and ran new wire...
Now the defrost heater has power supplied to it constantly- 120 volts. I changed the power supply board and no change...If I disconnect the wire to the defrost heater, the refrigerator cools correctly. Any ideas?
