Thanks Gene! I should have mentioned that I checked the tube for ice as you had said to do in one of your earlier posts.

Hi Jim,

Yes, you are on the right track. You also may want to make sure that the water tube into the ice maker is not frozen.

I believe I have a similar problem. My valve is Pt#12195504. I checked both valves electrically and both had contiguity. I swapped the plugs and when I pressed the paddle on the freezer door for the water dispenser no water came out of the dispenser and no water came out at the ice maker. I let the system cycle and when it came time for the ice maker to fill, water came out the water dispenser in the door. From what I read here and another forum this leads me to believe the valve needs to be replaced. Am I correct?

Hi Jeff,

Make sure the water tube into the ice maker is clean and not blocked.

Locate the water inlet valve on the back of the refrigerator. Swap the wires between the two water valve solenoids. Press the water dispenser lever for a few seconds and check for water inside the ice maker.

If there is water, replace the ice maker.

If there is no water, replace the water valve.

Hello,
A few years back I replaced the icemaker. Recently, after the power outage here in Ohio and after using a power generator, the icemaker will not fill. The unit still works and will cycle if you manually fill it with water. There is also water available right next to the ice dispenser. Thanks for any advice you could provide.
Jeff
