Hi.

As long as you have opened the evaporator check the continuity of the defrost heaters and thermostat using the multimeter. The thermostat must be ice cold.
If there is no continuity - replace the kit

Part number: WR51X443
Part number: WR51X443

If there is continuity - locate the defrost timer inside the control panel and slowly turn the shaft CW until the fridge stops. Check if the heater gets hot in 5 min. The defrost thermostat must be still ice cold.
If the heaters comes on - replace the timer Part number: WR9X489
Part number: WR9X489

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for General Electric TFX24ZASAWH Refrigerator | AppliancePartsPros.com

Post the results.

A Ge Refrigerator Model #: Tfx24zasa Wh Is Not Cold Enough And The Motor Keeps Running. The Freezer Temperature Is 25 Degrees F And The Refrigerator Section Is 48 Degrees F. It Appeared That Not Enough Of Cold Air Was Being Produced And Circulated Even Though The Fan In The Freezer Was Running. I Shut The Unit Off And Removed The Freezer Back Panel To Expose The Cooling Coils. The Cooling Coils Were Completely Frozen And Iced Up. The Defrost Heaters Wire Terminal Conectors Appeared To Be Somewhat Overheated, Corroded, And Blackened. It Appears That The Unit Is Not Defrosting. What Is Causing This And What Parts Need To Be Replaced ?
