Looks like the timer is in the control console.

To see if it is stuck in a defrost cycle rotate the timer cam.
There is usually a hole in the console cover to let you do this without having to take things apart.

I have a ge fridge it appears to be stuck in defrost mode how would i check this? also where in the fridge is the timer located? thanks
