Check the compressor in the back, probably blown compressor parts.

Whatever happened with your fridge?

My Roper fridge is running continuously, it makes a click noise then makes another one a few minutes later. also heard a loud pop and a sizzle noise.
It is about 17 years old and I have had NO problems with it at all.
Not sure what the problem is and am wandering if it is just time to replace it?
