The new, redesigned by Whirlpool, kit comes with the installation instructions. It's designed for a few different compressors and you have to follow the instructions.

- The starting device kit Part number: AP3885081
Part number: AP3885081

This looks like the relay I would need for the model number of my fridge.. which is: 106.53699201

How can I figure out want the original manufactures part number is?

The fridge and freezer stopped working so I pulled the back off and found that the compressor is warm but never seems to turn on. A relay attached to the side of it clicks on and off every now and then but the compressor never vibrates or gives any sign of life.....

UPDATE: The compressor does seem to vibrate a little when the relay is on. But the relay is only on for about 15 seconds then switches off.

Bad controller board?
