Do you own a multimeter?
What symptoms led you to believe the defrost is not working?

Please explain what you mean by continuity reading of the heater.

Without looking at the diagram, there is either gonna be a glass heater, or a black calrod type heater, you will want to take the leads off of the heater, and take a continuity reading of the heater

My refrigerator is about 1.5 years old and the automatic defrost is not working. The freezer is cold but the refrigerator is warm. Can you help me troubleshoot the broken part. I did a manual defrost just now. After removing the back panel in the freezer I could not immediately identify the defrost components.
