The ice maker has nothing to do with it. There is no any connections between the ice maker and compressor. The replacement start device kit comes with the installation instructions. It depends on the condition of the unit and cost of repair. - The start device kit Part number: AP3873993

Just replace a broken icemaker (did not fill with water) 24 hour later the refrig/ freezer stopped cooling The condensor is clicking and hot so I think it is a problem with the relay overload start capacitor (part 8201799) Questions:
- Any explanation how replacing the icemakee could lead to my problem?
- The replacement part comes in pieces and looks different from the older unit (a 3n'a starter)......any recommendations regarding installation?
- Is this worth repairing in an old Kenmore (assuming the condensor is still good)
