If this is the only problem then a new ice maker should solve it.

Hi Gene,
My ice maker made ice but it will not drop the ice. Is there anything we can do for this problem?

Thanks for all of your help...

I do not know if the water valve is the problem unless you tested it. Try to use an extra wires. You also can apply 120 VAC straight to the water valve coil, but be careful not to electrocute yourself.

Hi Gene,
We tried to switch the wires as you recommended but the wires are not the same size. Do we need to install a new water valve.
Thanks, Dodie

Check the water feeding tube into the ice maker for an ice build up.

Locate the water inlet valve on the back of the refrigerator and swap the wires between the ice maker and water dispenser solenoids. Push the water dispenser lever and check if the ice maker filled up with water.

If it did then the problem is most likely a bad ice maker.

If it did not then the water valve is the culprit.

Hi Gene,

My refrigerator is estate by whirlpool year 11/04 and the model # is TS25AFXKQ03. The series is SR455980. The problem is that the water is not getting into the ice maker. As a matter of fact I don't hear it even trying. I thought I would have to replace the ice maker. Hopefully not.

Thank you so much for your help...

Dodie

Can you be more specific on the problem?

The model number you posted is incomplete.
