I have an electric oven that wont heat up. The door latch is broken at this point and that includes the button that will turn off the interior light. the control panel works fine and the oven sounds like it is working (fan etc turns on) but no heat. The light stays on non stop because the oben latch is broken so the oven control indicates door is open. Can this be simply a latch replacement? The part is less than $150.00, but before I buy I want to know if someone knows about this. Will an electric oven fail to heat if the door is open? Doesn't sound right to me.
