When I hit cancel, it resets the error but the tip element stays on and overhears even though the top oven was not turned on.

Hi.

What happens when you press the cancel/off button?

I have a 9 year old Whirlpool gold, dual oven wall insert system that runs on 120V. The upper oven is convection, the lower is a non-convection oven.

We were cooking, and when we were done, turned off the upper oven (the only one we were using). After a couple of minutes, we noticed the broiler element was on and was glowing hot, and the oven was obviously over heated. We tried turning it off, but it showed error "PF". I killed it at the breaker, and tried a reset, but no joy!

It seems to me that there is perhaps either a sensor or a relay of some sort that is bad on this. I cannot change any of the controls. If i turn the oven back on, the upper broiler comes on.

I am out of work and money is VERY tight, so I need to do this one on my own, and getting a new stove is not an option. Any help you can provide is GREATLY appreciated!
