If the unit is grounded out you can get heat all the time. If there is a bad place on the unit replace the unit and if it continues to heat all the time replace the control board. Appliance Repair Guide For All Major Home Appliances

The bottom element in the oven has a bad spot on it that stays red. Turned oven off but it was still hot the next morning. Had to shut off at breaker. When turned back on the next day the oven got hot without turning it on. Could this be just the element that needs replacing or do you think it is more than that?
