I'm glad you were able to fix it.

Happy New Year!

Gene you're a Gentleman and a Scholar! Your tip is just what I needed. Armed with your instructions the timer was installed in 15 minutes. I can't thank you enough. At our next oven cooked meal we will toast to your long life and good health.

Hi, Chryslerpetz

Using a putty knife, push the locking clip (#11 on the top assembly break down diagram) on each side under the top panel and lift the top panel.

Remove all screws held the control panel and pull it toward yourself .

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Maytag range Model CHE9800BCE

Good luck.
Gene.

I just received my Electronic Clock Unit today that I ordered from the Appliance Parts Pros. I've removed the lower screws on the panel, but I can't figure out how to get the cook top up. I've read on several posts here about retaining clips and screwdrivers, but I haven't been able to locate them. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you,
Chryslerpetz.
