my whirlpool microwave runs but does not heat, thought the problem was the diode, when we tested it with ohm meter it did not have any continuity.

purchased a new diode from applicance parts and received the part, when we tested that part, still no reading, called and they sent a second diode.

received the second diode and it again has no reading on the ohm meter.

installed the second diode to test the microwave...still no heat.

first question, shouldn't the new diode show a reading on the ohm meter?

second question, can you suggest what our next steps should be? if i need to order a different part, should i return the diode and ask for a refund?

thanks for you help.
