I would inspect the slide and bearing. Especially if the drum was hard to turn at all. If it seems easy to turn by hand then I would say the motor is about to go out. If it was me I would get a motor because this dryer is worth repairing.

I went to turn on my dryer and only heard the clicking of the knob. My husband and I held the start knob and door switch while turning the drum. It turned on. Then when we let go of the door switch it shuts off. If we are fast enough we can shut the door quickly and it will run fine. Any suggestions:eek:? We have no clue other them to be fast with it.
