The above model gas dryer with s/n 10128856WS was given to me by a neighbor for possible repair. The motor would only growl when the control was activated. The motor was removed and all dirt was blown out of the bearing areas both ends and lube was added to the bearings on both ends while the motor was in a vertical position. The motor was reinstalled but there was no improvement. An alternate motor in good condition was installed but this motor and blower combination was replaced with a motor that uses a blower wheel with a straight shaft in place of the original D ring type with snap rings. The motor I used also needed a pulley . The motor pulley I was able to use did not line up with idler pulley and the idler support arm was shimmed out about 1" to line up properly. A new belt was also used since the old one was destroyed . In checking this web site for repair parts I was surprised at the high prices for the small items involved. A replacement motor is not too bad but some small items such as the belt are very high. Is the typical for this dryer ?
