I had a whirlpool Wed4800 and changed the timer also. ended up the heat element was grounding to the duct and overheated clothes. mine ran heat even on the no heat fluff cycle. as soon as I dropped the heating element the burn was evident against the duct in the back.

I’ve replaced the timer and the heat continues. It shuts off if I open the door. The timer will move forward in all cycles but when it reaches cool down it just runs with heat forever until I turn it off? Any suggestions as to what would fix this issue?
Thanks!
