Sounds like at least one stuck relay and from your description, its not good.

Probably the main board, unless this dryer has a relay board too.

Without model number we can't tell.

My Maytag dryer will start and dry cloths when I close the door, however no lights are on at all, and dryer will continue to dry cloths forever unless I open the door. No timer, no shutoff, no lights. NADA.

I have to pull it out to get model/serial number and that means disconnecting the gas lines. In a bad spot so I only want to move it one time. By the description above can I say with some degree of certainty that the Main Control Board went bad?

Odd that it continues to dry without any means of stopping. Seems like a fire hazard.
