If the igniter gets red but the flame won't come back on, you're going to need new dryer gas coils. They are the two black solenoids located just in front of the gas igniter.

Good luck

My Whirlpool Estate gas dryer starts fine (ignites) heats for about a minute flame shuts off. The glow plug gets red hot but there is no flame. The dryer will just run with no heat. I have already tried the timer as I had thought it was that was that since the knob wont advance on auto sense cycle but the timer is not the issue. I really would like to repair this dryer and keep it as its a good size and it fits great in the space in my basement. Thanks for your help.
