Sounds like the problem is a bad timer.

- The timer Part number: AP2976318
Part number: AP2976318

no, the timer does not advance - but you can hear it "ticking"
the dryer stops when you open the door
the dryer starts when you close the door AND press the start button

Still need to know whether I may need a timer, relay, or Finish guard or some combination

please and thank you

Does the timer advancing to the Off position?

Does the dryer stop if you open the door?

Would it restart by itself when you close the door?

The dryer runs without stopping in a timed cycle. The timer when activated can be heard ticking.
do I need to replace the timer or the relay or the stop guard?
could someone advise?
