That model is more like 25 years old, I agree with Gene, rear bearing or front glides

Most likely the problem is a bad rear bearing. I would check the front glides as well. The model number you posted does not come up. Verify and repost it.

Used hotpoint dryer makes high screeching noise when used. Noise dies down for a little bit & then it's up high again. Could it be a bearing that's going out? Any suggestions would be very welcomed!
