Hi, skeeterdon Thank you for your question. Without further troubleshooting, which would require the complete model number of the dryer, the solution you offered (disconnecting the waterline) sounds really reasonable. Give it a try and let us know.

Maytag 5000 Series with Steam Dryer...
This just started happening the about the last 6 cycles.
We have dried on the timer and normal cycles...all the clothes get dried but it seems that one item will be wet that is about the size of a saucer...the rest of the item of clothing will be dry...Its like you just poured a cup of water on this section of clothing.....
There are no error codes at all....its like the dryer just dumps some water and it gets an item wet..any thought or ideas?
Dryer is about 10 yrs old. Other than replacing the thermostat twice in its lifetime, it has been working great.
dryer vent is clean and the inside of dryer was just clean and vacuumed about 2 months ago.
I guess I could just disconnect the water line and continue to use without the steam function...which we rarely use anyway..
Thanks in advance.
