Haven't found a way to repair the latch. We have resorted to using an automatic soap dispenser:

FINISH® QUANTUMATIC™ - the revolutionary new dishwasher detergent dispenser system

A bit expensive per wash, but it works.

I too have run into the same problem withthe blur soap dispenser lid latch. It broke off and they only sell the whole unit for $178. All the newer ones (the same apparent size) are $30-$50 but I'm not sure that they'll fit or operate the same. Its about 16 yrs old so I guess I'll be looking for a new washer (Bosch?)
Let me know if you find an easy or cheaper fix.

I have a Kitchen Aid Whisper Quiet Ultima dishwasher that has given us excellent service for over 10 years. Recently, my wife poured soap into the MAIN WASH section, closed the door, turned the small blue latch and it SNAPPED off !!!!

Now all the soap dumps into the washer when the door is closed and is used up on the pre-wash cycle.

I thought all I needed to do was buy a new blue latch, but all I can find is complete soap dispenser units for $150-$225 !!!!! No soap for the main cycle and the dishes hardly get cleaned.

Does anybody sell the latch or am I stuck buying the whole unit.

I have attached a photo of the front of the complete dispenser. The door latch is gray in this photo.

Thanks in advance.
