Hi Tim,

Remove water from the dishwasher.

Remove the bottom panel.

Disconnect the drain hose from the check valve (#15 on the break down diagram). Be prepared for some water on the floor.

Remove the check valve (turn it CCW) from the pump housing and check it for a clog.

Gene.

I have a Kenmore dishwasher Model number 16669992 that is not draining. I have taken the hose from the inlet on my sink and made sure there isn't a clog. There was none. I have no airgap.
When I listen to the dishwasher in the drain mode, I do seem to hear some "rattling", possibly bearings, if there are any in the sump pump. Not sure. The motor seems to be working fine as the water is forced into the wash arms...no problem there. I am wondering how to remove this pump and how to know for sure if this is the problem. Will I have to remove the dishwasher from the cabinet?
Thank you in advance for any advise.
Tim
