I have a maytag performa washing machine. The agitator will not work, nor will it spin. I removed the belt and turned the pulley and it did spin to release the brake. I re-installed the belt, and put it into a spin cycle and it worked, however when it is spinning, it makes a very fast, loud clicking noise and once the lid is opened, at times it will not work again until I repeat the process of removing the belt and turning the pulley to release the brake. Any ideas as where to go from here? Not sure if its a brake sticking or possibly a bad bearing or something else. Any advice would be appreciated.
