Ok so Im in the middle of tearing this washer apart but I cant figure out how to get the cone shaped part off the transmission shaft so I can get the outer tub out. I already have the inner tub out but I dont know how to get this thing off this is my first time in a washing machine! The diagram I am using is on this publication number 5995293320 diagram two part number 16.

If I got it right, you meant the trunnion (#16 on the diagram).

Using a 1/2" socket loosen the two bolts holding the lockplate to the agitator shaft and lift the trunnion of the shaft.
