Default Whirpool Duet Sport Won't Pump Out
Model Number: WFW8300SW01   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 1 - 5 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
Duet Sport won't pump out water. Whirpool won't tell me what Fault Code F-33 means. Someone elswhere said same as Kitchenaid "Leak" code.

Episode started with too sudzy F-21 code. I hung discharge hose higher in standpipe thinking that being too far down in "P-Trap" drain water was part of problem.

Have sponged out as much water as possible and tried over and over but doesn't work. Thing just humms a little and does nothing.

Anything else I can do B4 paying repair man? Is this thing a Pc. of junk in general? Worked fine when it worked but....

Seems like all washers and dryers are extremely crapily built am I wrong?

Default Fixed It!

OK - turns out pump is much easier to access than I thought. Took front panel off & low/behold a "service manual" taped to it! Code F-33 is check pump. Pump filter had 3 huge pcs. of sleeping bag string sucked all way inside pump. Code F-21 means "slow drain" which could be too much suds or in my case check pump.

This was a no brainer repair. Hardest part is getting water out of machine first. Use a cup, sponge, syphon hose etc. Then use a plastic paint tray under pump filter and unscrew it just enough to fill tray then dump out. Only takes about 4 times. Sooper easy.

Default whirlpool F21 and F33

Thank you! Our whirlpool duet washing machine kept showing F21 and F33 error codes because it wasn't draining. All the error codes are hidden inside the bottom panel. We unscrewed the panel, twisted the trap open, drained it and found a small plastic bag stuck in the pump area.

Smile Whirlpool Duet WFW8300SW03 F1 CODE

I had the same problem with my Whirlpool Duet today and was able to figure out the problem for $0.00. I should preface this without any help from the Whirlpool hot line, which were no help at all and rude at times on the phone.
Enough complaining...The problem you have is do to the design of the washing machine to allow items that were left in pockets to get down into the pump and pump filter chamber. The pump is located in the bottom, front, right hand side of the machine. I unplugged the machine first, then removed the back panel, removed the two hoses on the pump which you will want to have plenty of towels around for, then I loosened but did not remove the two screws in the bottom of the machine that give the pinch to the rubber base of the pump, then slide the pump slightly and it will pop out. Unplug the electrical connector to allow the pump to come all the way out the back.
There is a large hand tightened cap on the front of the large chamber in front of the pump that collects all the garbage left in your pockets. Get all this stuff out. Also you can separate the pump from the filter hosing and make sure there isn't anything like paper clips ect. in the pump blades. This was the problem I had. I pull the following items out of the filter chamber.
$1.13 in change, that included three quarters, 3 DS gameboy sticks, 6 paper clips, 4 hair clips one of which was also in the pump blades, a ring, and allot of hair/lint. Well the service Tech. I call said the repair would be around $350. if they need to replace the control board but I guess in the long run I ended up making or at least finding money in the process. Hope this helps other people out there with the same problem. I should also say that Whirlpool has the service manual taped to the inside bottom front of the machine. This has all the codes and possible fix actions for each problem. I guess they figured the homeowner was more likely to misplace these and the service Tech. would need them and find them when the machine was turn apart for service.

Default Easy Fix... Whirlpool Duet sport washer

@ezfix1234 - Your post did help my husband and I fix the washer... since we were coming up on labor day weekend I knew the "warranty" people wouldn't be out until next week.... Well following you simple advice. We removed 3 hex head screws in front and accessed the drain clean out. Wow... .50 cents, (4 dimes, 1 nickle, 5 pennies) a couple bobby pins, sewing needles (odd), couple paper clips, and a lot of lint and pillow stuffing....! Needless to say I think the washer is working again. Wow Whirlpool made this a ingenious design both for the do it yourself fixer and the make some money repair guys...! My fix cost me nothing... repairs would have been much more.

Thanks Again to everyone on their posts.

Default F01, F21, & F33 codes

The prior posts were right on the money. However, cleaning mine didn't fully cure but I've not been able to separate the motor from the filter yet. Pump works initially in cycle but in later stages gets really hot around the windings above the pump motor.

The paint tray for emptying water from filter works great once you've gotten the level down. Another thing that worked great for me was to remove the bottom panel and use a bucket that fit under the door. Open door when water level is high and it dumps in bucket (square works better than round bucket) with almost no mess at all. Empties washer much faster than doing it all in paint tray and cleaner than a pile of towels under door...

May be new pump before day is out at about $60. MUCH cheaper than service technician doing work that is relatively simple. Thanks all...

Smile Whirlpool Duet Sport F-33 error code solution

Thank you, thank you, thank you . I followed the steps that were explained here when I got the F-33 code: took off the bottom front panel, found the manual (which didn't help), turned the huge white circle screwlike thing counterclockwise completely around until it popped out, about a cup of water spilled out , mopped it up, took out all the gunk that was there, cleaned everything, put it all back together and now my washer works as good as new. The hardest part was getting the three screws off that holds on the front panel because I don't have a pedestal under the washer and it was hard to get to. I can't believe I would have paid a repairman hundreds of dollars to do what I just did in 10 min. Now I can buy the pedestal with the money I saved! What did people do before the internet????
