Model Number: LAT9406AAE Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
I am trying to figure out how to get the tub out of the machine. Have the agitator out and I am suspecting that I need to remove a retainer ring that is on the shaft. The problem I am experiencing is that everything works except the spin cycle. During a spin cycle there is smoke coming from the washer. I did remove the belts and they look good. Does anyone know where I may find a service manual online that I could look at?
Thank you very much for your time.
Have tub out now and took off belts. Seems everything is working without the belts. Might just have been the belts but by taking it apart it needed a good cleaning anyway. Going to wait until tomorrow to get new belts from the supply store if the local hardware store can't match up the old ones. Heck automotive store might just get me going.
Just wanted to update my previous comments. Thanks...
Update: Put her all back together and put on some new belts (Maytag was open on Sunday). Just did a load of laundry and worked like it was new. Hopefully she works for another 10 years!
Take care all......
