I have a Maytag Washer MAV5000AWW which will not work at all. Ther is opower and water to the machine but there is no respone when I turn selector switch, load level switch or any other switch. Per internet advice I have replaced Timer motor and lid switch which I am told are the most common problems. I have removed all access panels and checked for loose or disconnected wires, shorts, burns etc. Cannot find anything visually wrong. Even removed water flow solenoid and put power to it It buzzes but I don't know if this means it works. Water does not flow into machine and motor does not show any signs of getting power. Since I don't know the logic of the machine I don't know what else to try. Any suggestions? Thanks & Regards, Paul Giegel

Well, interesting. Here is a service manual that will help you trouble shoot it. http://repair2000.com/Li...maytagatlantiswasher.pdfA couple of things 1. I assume when you said you replaced the timer motor you really meant the timer, if not you may have to replace the timer. 2. I know you replaced the lid switch, but try by-passing it to make sure. 3. Check the wiring diagram. It shows there may be a 10amp fuse in this model. 4. Test the other switches. 5. Use a test meter to see if power is getting to the solenoids. They should not buzz. Good luck.

Thanks for your info. I have been looking at copy of manual you provided. First I did replace the entire timer mechanism which I assume includes the little round drive motor. Second, when I completely disconnected and removed inlet flow valve I put power to each set of leeds and like I said both coils just buzzed and of course I could not tell whether it opened or closed There was not a typical clicking like a solenoid. You said it should not buzz? Does this mean coils are bad? I will be checking it again like you suggested. Unfortunately I sent for a test meter and have to wait till I get it to run test. I wondered whether there was a 10 amp fuse on the MAV5000? Where should I look for that? In the console? I have not been able to locate one. I will let you know when I finally trace problem Thanks for the help in the meantime Regards, Paul

Sounds like you do not have the fuse.
When you get your meter check to see if 120v is getting to the inlet valves. If so, then replace them. Have never gotten "buzz" but don't think that should be there.
Be sure and check the lid switch, looks like everything goes through it.
